Erza's childhood friend Jellal initiated a policy of to spend time playing a sophisticated game with Natsu together with his team as enemy pieces to remain eliminated. Meanwhile, Siegrain is hoping to have the Magic Council to fireside a weapon which can obliterate Jellal's tower, killing everyone in it including our heroes from Fairy Tail!

As Erza and her friends prepare to mount their assault on Jellal wonderful magical tower, they can be unexpectedly joined by the selfsame goons who had originally kidnapped Erza in the earlier volume. Apparently, they need enjoyed a change of heart, consists of childhood buddies of Erza. Yet they aren't terribly helpful, unfortunately. Jellal has unleashed his Trinity Raven: Vidaldus, Fukuro and Ikaruga trio of garishly styled superbaddies are greater than a match following the most challenging in our protagonists.
Fortunately though, the numbers favor our intrepid heroes, together with a bit teamwork they can treat us by some satisfying, double team throwdowns. Lucy pairs served by Juvia to look at down Vidaldus, while Natsu and Simon struggle against Fukuro till Gray sweeps throughout the rescue. This final match ends up in a cliffhanger, however is not before Erza boasts a moment of poignant character development. Having lost several layers of her best equip armor magic to Ikuraga's relentless as onslaught, Erza settles even on a simple cloth outfit. She now knows that for everyone their glory, her armors only have served as the barrier on the friendship and bonds she so desperately needs at her core. They may be the long awaited deciding on Jellal is finally coming save for those final obstacle of Trinity Raven, Jellals ace assassin thugs!
